Football Recap: New Canaan Starts Season with Win on the Road
Rams Defeat St. Joseph, 28-14

The New Canaan Rams football team kicked off their season with a dominant 28-14 victory over St. Joseph on the road Friday night. Quarterback Drew Pyne led the Rams' offense, throwing for 200 yards and two touchdowns, including a 60-yard bomb to wide receiver Jack Stewart in the first quarter. Running back Cole Spellman also had a strong performance, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. The Rams' defense was equally impressive, holding St. Joseph to just 14 points. Defensive end Jake Parsells had a sack and two tackles for loss, while linebacker John Toner intercepted a pass in the end zone late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

The Rams (1-0) will host Fairfield Prep at home next Saturday, September 10th. St. Joseph (0-1) will travel to Greenwich next Saturday, September 10th.
