Pavelski Out for Western Conference First Round Games 3 and 4

Dallas Stars top-line winger Joe Pavelski is in concussion protocol and wont play for the Dallas Stars in Game 2 of the Western Conference First Round against the Minnesota Wild.

The Stars could be getting their top-line winger back soon. Dallas forward Joe Pavelski could be returning to the lineup for Game 5 of the series, which is scheduled for Thursday in Dallas.

Pavelski was injured in the first period of Game 1 of the series against the Wild on Sunday. He was leveled by Minnesota defenseman Matt Dumba and did not return to the game.

The Stars lost Game 1 to the Wild 4-3 in overtime. They will look to even the series in Game 2 on Tuesday in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Pavelski is a key player for the Stars. He is a veteran leader and one of the team's top scorers. He has 14 goals and 31 assists in 82 games this season.

The Stars will need Pavelski back in the lineup as soon as possible if they want to make a deep run in the playoffs.
