Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas Make Gains in Latest Rankings Update
The ATP has released its latest Pepperstone ATP Rankings, with Novak Djokovic holding firm at the top of the men's tennis world. Rafael Nadal, who was hoping to reclaim the top spot, has dropped down to No. 2 following a disappointing performance at the recent Indian Wells Masters. Roger Federer, who is still recovering from knee surgery, has fallen out of the top 10 for the first time in over two decades.Carlos Alcaraz, who won his maiden ATP Masters 1000 title in Indian Wells, has moved up to No. 3 in the rankings. Stefanos Tsitsipas, who reached the semifinals in Indian Wells, has also climbed up to No. 4. Daniil Medvedev, who had been ranked No. 1 earlier this year, has dropped down to No. 5.
Other notable movers in the rankings include Hubert Hurkacz, who has moved up to No. 10, and Andrey Rublev, who has moved up to No. 12. Jannik Sinner, who won the Montpellier Open last week, has also moved up to No. 15.
The ATP Rankings are used to determine seeding for tournaments and to qualify players for the ATP Finals. The ATP Finals is a year-end tournament that features the top eight players in the world. Djokovic has won the ATP Finals a record six times, while Federer and Nadal have each won it five times.
The ATP Tour will resume next week with the Monte-Carlo Masters. Djokovic, Nadal, and Alcaraz are all expected to compete in the tournament.
