A Solemn Anniversary
On January 6th, 2021, a dark day for American democracy occurred. I join our nation in solemnly commemorating the anniversary of this attack on our Capitol and our democratic values. We must never forget the violence, the disregard for the rule of law, and the attempt to overturn a fair and free election.
In the months since that fateful day, the House January 6th Committee has worked tirelessly to uncover the truth and hold accountable those responsible. Our bipartisan investigation has revealed a comprehensive conspiracy to undermine our democracy, orchestrated by former President Donald Trump and his allies.
We must remain vigilant in protecting our nation from future attacks on our democracy. I urge all Americans to reject extremism, violence, and the corrosive forces that seek to divide us. We must stand together, united in our defense of our shared values and institutions.
